Empowering refugee and migrant women through education, health, employment and community integration to build stronger, healthier communities.

The African Women Empowerment Forum (AWEF) is a UK-registered charity supporting refugees, asylum seekers, migrants, and disadvantaged communities across Nottingham and the East Midlands. We empower women and families through education, English language classes, employability training, entrepreneurship, health and wellbeing programmes, mental health support, domestic abuse awareness, digital inclusion, and community integration. Your donation will help us provide life-changing opportunities for people facing poverty, isolation, racial inequalities, and barriers to employment and healthcare. Funds will enable us to deliver community health programmes, skills training, mentoring, wellbeing activities, emergency support, and leadership development, helping individuals become confident, independent, and active members of society.
We welcome volunteers from all backgrounds to support our work. Opportunities include mentoring, administration, fundraising, teaching, event support, community outreach, digital skills, and wellbeing activities. Whether you can give a few hours a month or more, your time can make a real difference. Please contact AWEF through our website or email us to find out more about volunteering opportunities.
