We have a Talk Line that will be able to allow beneficiaries to have a chat on the telephone for free to stop social isolation. It which will then identify which isolated adults will be able to go on day excursions to a farmland in Reading from Luton and back in a minibus so as to allow these beneficiaries to mingle and get to know each other through doing recreational activities together like: sewing, knitting & crochet under a gazebo, football / rounders / frisbee, walking to the canal, lock and barge, planting trees & potting plants, socialising, listening to talks, watching the tractor & digger at work, etc. Food will be donated from a local food bank in Luton for the trips. We might have use of a minibus lent to us by a local scout group in the future too however, we pay for a driver of a minibus to take beneficiaries onto trips, at present. In turn, this will allow these people to lose weight, improve their mental wellbeing, sleep better which would mean less time at the GP and overall better physical and mental health.
