Angel Advocates Joins Help2Fund to Make Sure People Are Heard

If you have ever sat in a meeting where decisions were being made about your life and felt talked over, you already understand what Angel Advocates do. An advocate sits beside you and makes sure you are actually heard.

Who they are

Angel Advocates provides independent advocacy for vulnerable adults across Cumbria and Dumfriesshire who feel their voice is not being heard. Their advocates sit alongside clients through difficult moments, helping them communicate and engage with authorities and services. They also run peer advocacy sessions for survivors of domestic abuse. They are based in Carlisle and Dumfries, registered charity 1206158 and SC055090.

What your support does

£10 transports a client and their advocate to an important meeting. £50 covers the advocates' mobile bills for a month so they can stay in touch with the people who need them. Small numbers, but they are the difference between someone being at the meeting and someone missing it.

How to get involved

Their page is live at help2fund.org. Donations go directly to the charity through Stripe, minus only the standard card fee, and Help2Fund takes nothing.

They are also looking for new trustees, particularly people with a business, social care or legal background. Meetings are remote and there are around five a year.

Welcome to Help2Fund, Angel Advocates.
