Make Them Smile Joins Help2Fund

Statutory funding covers a lot for disabled and seriously ill children, but not everything, and the gaps tend to be the practical things. A communication device. A wheelchair that actually fits. A week away for a family that has not had one in years. Make Them Smile fills those gaps with grants.

Who they are

Make Them Smile awards grants to disabled and seriously ill children across the UK whose needs are not fully met by statutory services. That covers communication devices, wheelchairs, sensory equipment, therapy, home adaptations and safety equipment, plus respite holidays and hardship support for the whole family. They are based in Grimsby, registered charity 1150013.

How they decide

Every application is assessed individually rather than run through a formula. That takes longer, but it means the grant fits the family rather than the category they happen to fall into.

How to get involved

Their page is live at help2fund.org. Every donation goes towards grants that put real equipment and real breaks into the hands of families who need them, and it goes directly to the charity through Stripe, minus only the standard card fee.

They welcome volunteers too, for fundraising events and community collections. Enhanced DBS checks apply for roles involving children. Email trustees@makethemsmile.org.uk.

Welcome to Help2Fund, Make Them Smile.
