New Cushions from Fine Cell Work: Disrupted Geometrics

Fine Cell Work has a new cushion collection out, and it is worth a look even if you are not in the market for cushions. Disrupted Geometrics takes classic geometric shapes and reworks them with bold colour and stitched detail.

The new collection

The range was designed in house and hand-stitched by Fine Cell Work's makers. The Tetford, Ingoldby and Burstow cushions are the ones to start with. Every piece is made by someone in prison learning a real, paid skill, so buying one is not just buying a cushion. It funds the work that puts the skill there in the first place.

Who they are

Since 1997, Fine Cell Work has paid people in prison to do skilled needlework. It runs the largest hand-stitching workforce in Europe, and the people doing the work earn a qualification and money saved towards release. In May 2026 the charity was granted a Royal Warrant as supplier of hand-embroidered products to Her Majesty The Queen, which gives you a sense of the standard.
